KPSC has important national and regional relationships with organizations, including the KU School of Pharmacy, Kansas Department of Health & Environment, the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), Kansas Congressional offices, various state-level health care associations, NCPDP, McKesson/AccessHealth – all of which help us keep you informed on important news and events in the pharmacy industry that will affect you and your pharmacy.
- KU School of Pharmacy – KPSC works with the KU School of Pharmacy to provide support and educational opportunities about independent pharmacy for students who may have an interest in a career in independent pharmacy.
- Medicaid (KanCare) – KPSC maintains a very constructive relationship with KDHE on all aspects of KanCare’s pharmacy program (e.g., reimbursement issues, maintenance drug list, PBM communication, specialty pharmacy and much more).
- Federal Issues – KPSC works with NCPA and other national contacts to help track and provide leadership on important issues that can impact community pharmacy. These have recently included topics such as 340b, Medicare Part D preferred networks, the Drug Supply Chain Security Act and federal pro-pharmacy bills (just to name a few!).
- State Board of Pharmacy – KPSC’s staff and lobbying team attends all State Board meetings and related Committee meetings to track and provide useful and respected input aimed at benefiting independent pharmacy.
