Our Mission — To provide services that promote the business success and
professional vitality of KPSC stockholder pharmacies

The Kansas Independent Pharmacy Service Corporation (KPSC) Board of Directors and staff want our stockholders and all Kansas independents to understand the whole picture — the comprehensive and determined way that KPSC is providing opportunities for you.  Only KPSC offers this level and breadth of service to move Independent Pharmacy positively forward.

KPSC is celebrating its 25th year serving the needs of Kansas independents. You can learn more about our many programs, initiatives and benefits on this website or by contacting us at 1-800-279-3022. Stockholders have special, everyday access to the Stockholders Only section for Fax-O-Grams and other information.

  • KPSC will hold its 2010 Mid-Year Meeting: Pharmacy and Politics on April 10 and 11 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka. We have many excellent speakers, including NCPA Executive Vice-President Bruce Roberts and Lt. Governor Troy Findley, who will help you better understand the political landscape and how pharmacists need to take part in the political process. We invite all stockholders to attend. Call 1-800-279-3022 for more information.
  • Pace has entered into a long-term agreement with McKesson Corporation effective September 1, 2009 that will lead to McKesson becoming Pace's exclusive pharmaceutical distributor. The move to the exclusive relationship will be gradual as Pace has agreements with other wholesalers that it will continue to support through the term of those agreements. The new relationship will help provide a platform for Pace to continue to strongly serve members nationally for many years to come. Many KPSC pharmacies have already signed up to take advantage of the new Pace-McKesson buy plan.
  • A key initiative of KPSC that began in 2008 is our campaign to promote the value of KPSC stockholder pharmacies. Kansas Hometown Pharmacy - The People Who Take Care of You started with television ads in January 2008 and ran for three months across the state. Kansas Hometown Pharmacy television ads ran again the first three months of 2009. The next edition of Kansas Hometown Pharmacy ads starts in mid-January of this year. New KHP shirts are being designed to send out also. Patients can find Kansas Hometown Pharmacies in their area by visiting www.kshometownpharmacy.com.
  • KPSC continues to be an important and comprehensive resource on various regulatory/legislative issues for your pharmacy. Ask Ron Yoder, when he visits your pharmacy, to share a list of KPSC advocacy actions with you.
  • KPSC believes in maintaining excellent communications with stockholders on current issues and KPSC programs. We share information regularly by Fax-O-Gram to help keep our stockholders up to date on issues affecting their practices. And, when you call KPSC for help, you always know you will get great service and timely responses.
  • KPSC is seen as a strong leader in representing independent pharmacies on federal and state legislative issues. We also are active on issues at the State Board of Pharmacy, including establishment of a meth precursor tracking program and telepharmacy regulations. KPSC CEO Peter Stern serves on the Provider Health Reform Advisory Council at the Kansas Health Policy Authority (KHPA), helping bring a strong, experienced voice to these complex discussions for Kansas Pharmacy. He was also appointed to the CCRx Pharmacy Advisory Committee, which will help us to provide more feedback to CCRx on their Part D plans.
  • KPSC has a pharmacy management consultant benefit for stockholders, including reimbursement of the initial fee when using one of the two available vendors.
  • Our Volume Purchasing Marketing Representative, Ron Yoder, travels to visit stockholder and non-stockholder pharmacies. Ron is an important part of the KPSC team, sharing important news on the many services of KPSC as well as collecting your feedback.
  • KPSC's Entrepreneurial Opportunities Group (EOG) initiative is in its thirteenth (13) year educating KU pharmacy students on the advantages of a career in independent pharmacy. The EOG scholarship program has awarded 113 scholarships to 83 students since 1998. KPSC has contributed over $57,000 for EOG scholarships.

If your pharmacy is not a KPSC stockholder, contact us today to find out how you can join your peers on the KPSC team.
